Network & Infrastructure Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Provision, configure, deploy, and optimize Layer 2/3 networks across cloud, data center, laboratory, and office settings.

• Maintain links ranging from 10 GbE to 100 GbE, including routing protocols, throughput, and capacity dashboards.

• Proactively address network bottlenecks to achieve stringent uptime objectives.

• Automate network operations, provisioning, and change management processes utilizing Ansible, Python, and Terraform.

• Diagnose physical, logical, and cloud-edge issues, encompassing P1/P2 incidents.

• Keep operational runbooks, network topology diagrams, capacity plans, and change management records up to date.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, SRE, InfoSec, and Infrastructure Operations.

• Manage certificates and keys, enforce firewall policies, remediate switch vulnerabilities, and assist with physical data center tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant technical education or a BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 3 years of hands-on experience in enterprise, data center, or cloud network operations.

• Proficient in L2/L3, Ethernet, VLAN, STP, BGP/OSPF, VPNs, routing, and switching.

• Experience with managing Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Juniper, and Palo Alto firewalls, including traffic analysis and security enhancement.

• Strong foundational knowledge in Linux networking, including bridges, bonding, iptables, and namespaces.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes networking, CNIs, service mesh, ingress, OpenStack networking, and distributed storage connectivity like Ceph.

• Proficient in Python, Ansible, or Terraform.

• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud infrastructure, including VPCs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, and Transit Gateway.

• Familiarity with network monitoring, alerting tools, diagnostic dashboards, and troubleshooting techniques.

• Excellent technical communication abilities and strong documentation skills.

• Availability for on-call support as required.

• Advanced routing knowledge in BGP route policy and AS path filtering is a plus.

• CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, or relevant public cloud networking certifications are advantageous.
