IT Infrastructure Engineer, Windows, Active Directory, VMware

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, sustain, and enhance Windows and Linux server infrastructures.

• Oversee and uphold virtualization, storage, and backup systems.

• Manage Windows Active Directory and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

• Provide support for enterprise applications and services hosted on Windows and Linux platforms, including email and business systems.

• Administer monitoring, patch management, configuration management, and access control services.

• Plan and implement OS patching and infrastructure upgrades in line with company policies.

• Lead small to medium-sized infrastructure projects while also participating in larger initiatives.

• Conduct qualification, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of infrastructure systems.

• Maintain a precise inventory of infrastructure assets, warranties, and associated services.

• Coordinate with infrastructure vendors, including tracking deliveries, managing contracts, and overseeing vendor activities.

• Create and update technical documentation, procedures, and system standards.

• Collaborate with the Network & Connectivity and Cloud & Modern Workplace teams on cross-domain projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a relevant field.

• Full professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.

• Practical knowledge of virtualization technologies.

• Experience in administering Windows and/or Linux servers.

• Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure services such as PKI and email/MTA technologies.

• Practical knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure projects.

• Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring, patch management, and configuration management.

• Capability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

• Experience with VMware, Proxmox, or Hyper-V.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hybrid infrastructure.

• Familiarity with Azure Arc and Azure Update Manager.

• Experience with Zabbix or other infrastructure monitoring systems.

• Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages and infrastructure automation.

• Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Sendmail, or Postfix.

• Familiarity with Veeam or similar backup solutions.

• Knowledge of ITIL, change management, qualification, and validation processes.

• Relevant certifications in Microsoft, virtualization, Linux, or other infrastructure areas.
