Network & Infrastructure Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Provision, configure, deploy, and optimize Layer 2/3 networks across cloud, data center, laboratory, and office settings.

• Maintain high-capacity 10 GbE–100 GbE links, manage routing protocols, and oversee throughput and capacity dashboards.

• Proactively identify and resolve network bottlenecks to adhere to stringent uptime requirements.

• Automate network operations, provisioning, and change management utilizing Ansible, Python, and Terraform.

• Troubleshoot physical, logical, and cloud-edge issues, including priority 1 and priority 2 incidents.

• Keep operational runbooks, network topology diagrams, capacity plans, and change management documentation up to date.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Information Security (InfoSec), and Infrastructure Operations.

• Manage certificates and keys, enforce firewall policies, and address switch vulnerabilities in conjunction with InfoSec.

• Support physical data center operations, including operating system upgrades and switching/routing configurations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant technical studies or a BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in enterprise, data center, or cloud network operations.

• Proficiency in L2/L3, Ethernet, VLAN, STP, BGP/OSPF, VPNs, as well as routing and switching.

• Experience managing Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Juniper, and Palo Alto firewalls.

• Background in traffic analysis and security hardening.

• Understanding of Linux networking principles, including bridges, bonding, iptables, and namespaces.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes networking, including Container Network Interfaces (CNIs), service mesh, and ingress.

• Familiarity with OpenStack networking.

• Awareness of distributed storage connectivity, such as Ceph.

• Proficient in Python, Ansible, or Terraform.

• Practical experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud infrastructure, including VPCs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, and Transit Gateway.

• Familiarity with network monitoring, alerting tools, diagnostic dashboards, and troubleshooting techniques.

• Excellent technical communication skills and strong documentation capabilities.

• Availability for on-call duties as required.

• CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, or relevant public cloud networking certifications are preferred.
