Network Engineer – Low Voltage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the structured cabling design process for warehouse and distribution facilities from start to finish.

• Travel to various warehouse and distribution center locations, up to 70%, to perform site assessments, gather requirements, and evaluate existing infrastructure.

• Collaborate with site operations, facilities management, construction, and automation teams to establish low voltage cabling requirements.

• Convert site specifications into comprehensive cabling design packages, which include pathway plans, rack and patch panel layouts, drop counts, and labeling standards.

• Create scopes of work and bid packages for low voltage cabling projects.

• Oversee competitive bidding processes with qualified cable integrators.

• Assess integrator bids for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.

• Guarantee that designs adhere to TD SYNNEX's Global Network Connectivity Standard and site classification criteria.

• Review ongoing and completed work by integrators, including test results and as-built documentation.

• Maintain design templates, standard details, and bid documentation.

• Act as the technical liaison among site stakeholders, integrators, and the wider network team.

• Assist with budgeting and cost estimation for cabling scopes as part of site buildout planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in structured cabling design, low voltage project management, or a related infrastructure position.

• Proficient knowledge of copper and fiber cabling standards (TIA/EIA), pathway and space design, as well as telecom room or MDF/IDF layout.

• Proven experience in drafting scopes of work and managing competitive bid processes with third-party integrators or contractors.

• Comfortable interpreting and annotating architectural, electrical, or facility drawings.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Willing and able to travel up to 70%, including to active construction or warehouse environments.

• Preferred BICSI certification (RCDD or equivalent) or a commitment to obtain it within a specified timeframe.

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or industrial settings is a plus.

• Familiarity with wireless site survey concepts and connectivity requirements for warehouse automation is advantageous.

• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Network Engineering or a related field is preferred.

• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise, CCNP Data Center, Microsoft Azure Associate, Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE) Specialist, F5 Certified Administrator, or Solar Winds Certified Professional are desirable.
