Network Engineer IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable, resilient network solutions across routing, switching, fabric, and security domains.

• Lead intricate troubleshooting initiatives involving routing protocols, fabric/switching connectivity, and firewall policy conflicts.

• Architect and oversee Cisco ACI fabric environments, including tenant design, endpoint groups, contracts, and fabric integration.

• Architect and manage Cisco SD-Access fabric environments, including underlay/overlay design, fabric nodes, DNA Center policy, and segmentation.

• Design, configure, and troubleshoot BGP and OSPF routing environments, including redistribution, policy control, and multi-site architectures.

• Design highly available switching infrastructure across Nexus, ACI, and SD-Access environments, including VXLAN/EVPN segmentation and redundancy.

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPN, and threat prevention.

• Design and manage NAC policies and device compliance utilizing Forescout or Aruba ClearPass.

• Act as an escalation point for high-level, service-impacting network issues.

• Identify, evaluate, and recommend security postures to peers and security teams.

• Research, assess, and suggest hardware, software, and vendor solutions.

• Lead planning for the implementation of routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, and switches.

• Develop project plans and task lists; engage in peer design reviews.

• Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to assess and integrate equipment and services.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

• Mentor and provide technical direction to less experienced engineers.

• Participate in the team's on-call support rotation.

• Architect and implement Python and Ansible automation and infrastructure-as-code pipelines for ensuring configuration consistency, compliance, and policy deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or regional equivalent is required.

• Bachelor's Degree is required; ideally in a field related to the role.

• Additional relevant experience may be considered in place of the degree requirement at the manager’s discretion.

• CCNA or higher is required (Routing and Switching, Enterprise, or Data Center track).

• CCNP or CCIE is preferred.

• Wireless certifications are a plus.

• 8–11 years of experience in the relevant field is required.

• Advanced knowledge of enterprise network environment design, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrades.

• Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and switching technologies.

• Advanced knowledge of BGP and OSPF design, troubleshooting, and optimization.

• Advanced understanding of Cisco ACI architecture and data center fabric design.

• Advanced understanding of Cisco SD-Access architecture and campus fabric design.

• Strong knowledge of network security architecture, including Palo Alto Networks firewall policy design and segmentation strategies.

• Strong knowledge of network access control concepts and enforcement using Forescout.

• Proficient with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, and Brocade equipment.

• Knowledge of Python and Ansible for network automation and infrastructure-as-code.

• Periodic travel to the Seattle, WA metropolitan area is required, up to 10%.
