L2 NOC Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee network performance to guarantee system availability and reliability.

• Identify and resolve network issues promptly.

• Collaborate with the network team to implement both hardware and software upgrades.

• Administer and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.

• Maintain documentation of network issues and their resolutions for future reference.

• Conduct routine network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, and security configurations.

• Respond swiftly to network outages and emergencies to restore service.

• Work alongside IT staff to enhance and optimize network performance.

• Execute network performance tuning and capacity planning.

• Ensure adherence to network policies and security standards.

• Provide network performance statistics and reporting.

• Assist in projects related to network design and capacity planning.

• Utilize network management tools to monitor network traffic and security.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience as a NOC Engineer or in a comparable network operations position.

• Proficiency with network monitoring and performance analysis tools.

• Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or similar.

• In-depth understanding of network infrastructure and hardware, including Cisco core, distribution, and access switches (6800, 6500, 4500, 3850, 3750).

• Practical experience with Cisco Nexus Series (5K, 7K, 9K) and SD-WAN solutions.

• Familiarity with wireless systems such as Cisco (85xx/55xx/25xx/21xx), Aruba, Ruckus, and Aerohive.

• Expertise in routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.

• Experience in network security with Palo Alto, ISE, and ACS.

• Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and network monitoring tools like SolarWinds, NetBrain, Cisco Prime, CACTI, WhatsUp Gold, NNM, and Packet Shaper.

• Proficient in network device onboarding and using Domotz for network monitoring and asset tracking.

• Hands-on experience with ConnectWise for ticketing and issue management.

• Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.

• Skillful in scripting languages for network automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Unix scripting).

• Experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an advantage.

• Hands-on experience with diagnostic and analytics tools for networking.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

• Willingness to work shifts and be on-call as required.

• Keen attention to detail and capability to document processes and issues effectively.
