Network Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Assist in the upkeep, configuration, and enhancement of enterprise network infrastructure, which includes routers, switches, firewalls, wireless technologies, and security appliances.

• Aid in network design, capacity planning, and the implementation of improvements to the infrastructure.

• Oversee network performance, troubleshoot problems, and help maintain dependable system availability.

• Contribute to network security by managing system maintenance, backups, disaster recovery processes, and following best practices.

• Investigate and assess network technologies, products, and services to support upcoming initiatives.

• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate network projects and services.

• Keep network documentation, technical specifications, and asset inventory up to date.

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights as designated.

• Suggest and assist with sanctioned network upgrades, repairs, and performance improvements.

• Provide direction and support to team members while ensuring compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and information security standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or GED is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of three (3) years of equivalent work experience is preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of various routing and switching protocols is required.

• Advanced understanding of configuring and deploying Cisco/Meraki, HP, Aruba, Velocloud, and Fortinet devices and software.

• Expert knowledge in configuring security standards for network hardware and software.

• Strong capability to troubleshoot and resolve complex networking challenges.

• Ability to conduct research on networking issues and products as needed.

• Proficiency in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment is preferred.

• Experience working within a team-oriented, collaborative setting is essential.

• A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and minimum automobile insurance coverage as established by the agency are required.

• Cisco Networking certification (CCNA) or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Ability to convey technical information and concepts in a clear, user-friendly manner.

• Proven ability to work independently with strong self-direction and initiative.
