Senior Network Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver 24/7 monitoring, provide advanced technical support, and oversee the design, implementation, and escalation of global network infrastructure.

• Engineer, configure, install, maintain, and upgrade next-generation firewall devices from Fortinet, Cisco, and Palo Alto.

• Manage and enhance existing customer-facing networks while planning network expansion by suggesting designs, hardware, and connectivity solutions.

• Create and evaluate system and network designs to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and industry best practices.

• Implement and support SD-WAN, MPLS, wired and wireless Layer 2/Layer 3 connectivity, firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers.

• Offer multi-layered technical support to customers via Network Operations Center services.

• Analyze and resolve broad, potentially service-impacting anomalies.

• Escalate issues to the appropriate resources or management as needed.

• Serve as an escalation point for customer issues and internal work units.

• Collaborate with customers, vendors, and third-party providers to troubleshoot issues and participate in design sessions.

• Accurately track issues in the ticketing system and provide timely updates to customers regarding progress and resolutions.

• Obtain and sustain technical certifications.

• Adhere to company policies, data privacy practices, annual compliance training, and policy acknowledgments.

• Execute additional duties as assigned by the manager.

• Report directly to the Director of Network Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or University degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience of 8+ years in a related position.

• A minimum of 8+ years of related work experience is required.

• Extensive experience with OSI-based network flow, complex hands-on network troubleshooting, debug commands, packet captures, and routing/path analysis.

• Significant experience in configuring, designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Cisco ASA/Firepower and Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center.

• Extensive experience with Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls and Fortinet Access Points and Switches.

• Significant experience with Cisco Routers and Switches, including Cisco Nexus Switches.

• Extensive experience with Juniper EX/QFX Switches, Routers, and SRX Firewalls.

• Significant experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama.

• Extensive experience in FortiGate SD-WAN design and troubleshooting.

• Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing protocols.

• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues within NSX environments, including performance tuning and optimization.

• Extensive experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting F5 Load Balancers, including LTM, GTM, and ASM modules.

• In-depth experience with VMware NSX-V and NSX-T.

• In-depth experience in MPLS design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

• In-depth experience troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 issues.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting AWS networking services, including VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, Security Groups, and NACLs, in production environments.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Cloudflare services, including DNS, CDN, WAF, DDoS protection, Zero Trust/Access, and Tunnel, for production web and application environments.
