Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Design and establish networks within extensive GPU clusters, encompassing compute fabric, storage network, front-end, and out-of-band management.

• Collaborate with the Cluster Architect on network architecture.

• Partner with deployment engineers on-site during validation processes.

• Report directly to the Head of Infrastructure.

• Create designs for InfiniBand NDR/XDR and Spectrum-X Ethernet fabrics, including rail-optimized topologies and NVLink domain integration.

• Plan and design storage, tenant access, internet, and cloud interconnect networks.

• Develop cabling plans, optics BOMs, and labeling standards.

• Execute fabric bring-up, NCCL and fabric performance testing, and acceptance sign-off.

• Troubleshoot fabric issues during deployment and Day 2 operations.

• Create configuration templates and tools for validated build baselines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in designing and bringing up InfiniBand or RoCE fabrics for clusters with over 1,000 GPUs.

• Familiarity with NVIDIA UFM and switch operating systems like Cumulus or SONiC.

• Practical understanding of optics, transceivers, and high-density cabling.

• Proficiency in Python and Ansible or similar tools for configuration and validation.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
