Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of a secure and efficient network across both Azure and on-premises environments.

• Set up VPNs, IPsec tunnels, routers, firewalls, and Azure Application Gateways.

• Oversee network performance, resolve outages, and plan server and equipment upgrades.

• Conduct audits on IP addresses and handle DNS resolution management.

• Keep topology diagrams and IP Address Management (IPAM) plans up to date.

• Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code templates and automation scripts using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.

• Collaborate with cloud architects and application teams to enhance traffic flow, reduce latency, and improve throughput.

• Maintain standards and access policies to safeguard systems and data.

• Stay informed about Azure networking advancements and disseminate best practices within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate’s degree or completion of technical school training along with 6 to 12 months of relevant experience.

• Practical knowledge of Azure networking, load balancing, and secure connectivity, including VPNs, IPsec, and firewalls.

• Acquainted with infrastructure as code and automation technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

• Strong understanding of routing, DNS, and management of IP addresses.

• Comfortable with monitoring and troubleshooting tasks.

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

• Commitment to adhering to established processes.

• Intellectual curiosity and dedication to efficient, cost-effective growth.

• Must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
