
National Sales Manager – Chemical Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage essential strategic customer relationships
• Supervise Area Sales Managers and lead the Specialty Chemical Sales Organization
• Report directly to the Business Director for the Performance Products Group
• Direct domestic sales for the Performance Products Business and the Armand Joint Venture
• Achieve annual sales plans with quarterly growth targets for sales and GM%
• Ensure the implementation of individual territory call plans
• Develop negotiation strategies, key account plans, and financial plans for individual territories
• Oversee the target account process and utilize customer profitability metrics to achieve margin goals
• Mentor a high-performing sales team
• Establish and nurture senior-level customer relationships at key accounts
• Assist in negotiating customer agreements
• Manage sales KPIs, territory sales objectives, plans, and forecasts
• Identify opportunities for business improvement, growth, and closing sales forecast gaps
• Control the sales SG&A cost center within budget
• Propel new product sales growth and create new sales channels
• Aid in new product placement with current customers and partners
• Collaborate with the corporate credit department regarding customer credit matters
• Oversee house accounts and negotiate contracts to optimize sales potential and secure advantageous terms
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required; a degree in Business, Science, or a related field is preferred
• Over 10 years of progressive sales experience in the specialty chemical, chemical manufacturing, or related sector
• Prior experience in leading and developing high-performing sales teams
• Proven ability to cultivate and sustain strategic customer relationships, manage multiple priorities effectively, and operate independently with minimal oversight
• A demonstrated history of achieving both top-line and bottom-line growth results
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to deliver professional presentations and proposals
• Excellent problem analysis and resolution capabilities at both strategic and functional levels
• Financial and analytical expertise
• Strong negotiation abilities
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office and CRM software
• Ability to research, identify, comprehend, prioritize, plan, and effectively communicate market and customer needs with limited data
• Remote work arrangement
• Occasional attendance at in-person meetings as business needs require
