MySQL Database Consultant – DB Architecture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute scalable MySQL database architectures.

• Offer hands-on expertise in the installation, configuration, upgrades, and migrations of MySQL.

• Conduct performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting for databases.

• Design and oversee high availability (HA), replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on database design and best practices.

• Monitor the health, capacity, security, and availability of databases.

• Resolve complex issues within production databases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in MySQL Database Administration/Architecture.

• Extensive hands-on experience with MySQL, SQL, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.

• Familiarity with MySQL Replication, InnoDB, high availability/disaster recovery, as well as backup and recovery.

• Experience in database migration and upgrade initiatives.

• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is advantageous.

• Exceptional troubleshooting and communication abilities.
