MySQL Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and manage highly available and efficient MySQL databases

• Provide support for production databases across international data centers

• Set up, monitor, and resolve issues related to MySQL replication and clustering

• Generate database reports and queries for internal stakeholders

• Conduct performance tuning, backup and recovery, and proactive monitoring

• Diagnose complex database issues to ensure system availability

• Automate database processes using Python, Shell, or Bash scripting

• Document database designs, procedures, and operational guidelines

• Adhere to change management protocols for production environments

• Collaborate with Operations and Development teams on crucial, scalable databases and cloud modernization initiatives

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience

• More than 3 years of practical MySQL administration experience

• Familiarity with GCP or AWS cloud database technologies

• Strong understanding of MySQL implementation, performance tuning, and master-master replication

• Proficiency in MySQL administration tools and monitoring performance metrics (IO, CPU, queries)

• Experience in writing SQL queries for reporting and analytics

• Solid understanding of Linux for database administration

• Scripting capabilities in Python, Shell, or Bash

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Experience with SQL Server administration (preferred)

• Background in data warehousing, such as Google BigQuery (preferred)

• Familiarity with automation tools for database provisioning and monitoring (preferred)
