Database Administrator, PostgreSQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Plan, develop, implement, and consistently perform technical support activities for ICT users and infrastructure support services.

• Offer guidance and respond to user inquiries.

• Receive, log, analyze, diagnose, and fulfill customer requests.

• Address issues and facilitate services, migrations, and technology transfers.

• Execute periodic procedures and manage ICT infrastructure support documentation updates.

• Oversee corporate PostgreSQL environments.

• Conduct tuning, vacuum/autovacuum, performance optimization, and EXPLAIN/ANALYZE plan analysis.

• Install, configure, and monitor PgBouncer, including pooling modes and saturation diagnostics.

• Create, read, and review PL/pgSQL scripts.

• Provide support and optimize RHEL, Debian, and Ubuntu Linux environments, focusing on storage and file systems.

• Implement and oversee physical and logical replication, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Manage backup and restore policies.

• Apply patches, upgrade versions, and resolve incidents across Development, Staging, Testing, and Production environments.

• Uphold corporate naming standards, object libraries, and integration maps.

• Validate logical and physical data models.

• Manage access, auditing, logs, and encryption in accordance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD).

• Assist IT Planning, Change Management, Software Quality, and Testing teams.

• Prepare best-practice articles, identify and specify infrastructure solutions, and engage with vendors through support tickets.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related field.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the specified specialization, working within critical, high-availability corporate environments.

• ITIL 4 training of at least 12 hours.

• Official ITIL 4 Foundation certification or higher.

• One of the following cloud certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300), AWS Certified Database – Specialty, or Google Professional Data Engineer.

• PostgreSQL Professional certification, or LPIC-1 Linux certification along with at least 40 hours of PostgreSQL training.
