Senior Database Administrator – SQL Server

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Act as the subject matter expert for various Microsoft SQL systems, tools, or processes.

• Design, build, optimize, standardize, and automate Microsoft SQL systems.

• Create workflows and methodologies for Microsoft SQL systems, tools, or processes.

• Triage, document, and resolve Level 3 issues from the ticket management system.

• Provide technical leadership, operational support, risk management, and compliance support in healthcare.

• Identify opportunities for efficiency through automation and suggest new products.

• Manage strategic vendor relationships and ensure accountability from vendors.

• Assess risks associated with assigned Microsoft SQL systems and provide advice to leadership.

• Support procurement processes, budget recommendations, and forecasting activities.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Handle sensitive business and patient information appropriately.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

• At least 5 years of pertinent database management experience.

• Experience in a multi-facility healthcare organization.

• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and later, including failover and log shipping.

• Knowledge of Always On availability groups.

• Familiarity with Azure/Azure Arc.

• Experience with PowerShell.

• Consistent attendance is required.

• Willingness to travel up to 10%, which may include overnight travel.

• Ability to uphold confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

• Capability to maintain necessary licensure, certification, and professional credentials in good standing, if applicable.
