Municipal Classification and Compensation Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee the review of the classification structure for a civilian workforce comprising approximately 270 job titles.

• Create recommendations for civilian pay grades along with options for implementation.

• Perform market benchmarking in comparison to similar municipalities.

• Share findings with project leadership.

• Assist in the preparation of client-ready deliverables for studies.

• When permitted, contribute to AlphaGov proposals by providing qualifications and narratives related to municipal classification and compensation leadership experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience leading municipal classification and compensation studies.

• Background in public-sector HR consulting.

• Ability to work as a 1099 / project-based collaborator, including travel for client on-site visits as necessary.

• Experience with local government in South Carolina (preferred).

• Familiarity with classification and compensation studies for organizations with over 1,000 employees (preferred).

• Experience presenting to Boards, Councils, or elected officials (preferred).
