This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +6 more countries.
• Conduct independent validation of Transaction Monitoring, Customer Risk Assessment, Screening, and AI models developed using Claude or ChatGPT.
• Examine pre- and post-development model documentation, data quality, accuracy, accessibility, and testing methodologies.
• Evaluate model performance, accuracy, and stability.
• Analyze model risk and identify any potential biases.
• Review AI models associated with the AML/CFT program.
• Ensure compliance of Transaction Monitoring and Customer Risk Assessment models with EU AML/CFT Directives, US BSA/AML regulations, and FATF recommendations.
• Perform AML/CFT risk assessments to identify higher-risk customer segments, products, and geographic areas.
• Assess the effectiveness of controls and mitigating measures.
• Develop and implement procedures for ongoing model monitoring and maintenance.
• Complete annual reporting and certification processes.
• Monitor model performance, identify any degradation, and conduct regular reviews and updates of the models.
• Collaborate with Model Engineering, model owners, AML/CFT subject matter experts, business units, and risk management teams.
• Prepare model validation reports, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance documentation.
• Develop and enhance model validation frameworks while identifying best practices and industry standards.
• A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering.
• Over 3 years of experience in model validation, risk management, or a related field, ideally within AML/CFT.
• Strong grasp of machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of fiat and cryptocurrency payment flows.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
• Experience using data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets, products, and services.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Professional certifications such as FRM, CDA, or CAP are advantageous.
• Familiarity with AML/CFT transaction monitoring and Customer Risk Assessment systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud-based technologies is beneficial.
• Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus.
