Model Risk Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +41 more states.

📋 Description

• Foster awareness, comprehension, and implementation of AI governance policies, standards, and responsible AI practices throughout the enterprise AI community.

• Create and uphold a catalog of statistical, machine learning, AI, and GenAI models, detailing ownership, risk evaluations, and necessary metadata.

• Evaluate model risk considering complexity, regulatory obligations, business impact, and usage.

• Recognize emerging risks linked to AI and model operations.

• Develop and sustain Model Risk Management frameworks, processes, controls, policies, standards, and procedures.

• Oversee model performance, governance controls, KRIs, and adherence to policies and standards.

• Aid in model validation and testing by defining the scope, evaluating outcomes, documenting findings, and communicating recommendations.

• Engage in AI Model Governance oversight activities, audits, peer reviews, governance assessments, and risk evaluations.

• Generate reports, metrics, and executive-level insights on AI governance, model risk, control effectiveness, and areas of concern.

• Collaborate with internal teams, Enterprise Risk, auditors, and external vendors to maintain governance documentation and address risks.

• Track evolving regulatory and Department of Insurance expectations concerning AI and model risk.

• Enhance, automate, and optimize AI governance processes, tools, and controls.

• Assess governance processes and tools, resolve issues, and propose improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in model risk management practices, risk assessment, and auditing.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, data science, or a related discipline.

• Four years of relevant professional experience in AI model governance, model risk management, or audit; information management experience can substitute for a degree, provided the minimum work experience is met.

• Familiarity with compliance monitoring and/or auditing principles.

• Understanding of privacy, security, and AI model governance standards.

• Proficiency in authoring and conveying technical and business information, as well as clarifying complex or technical AI model governance subjects.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of converting technical information into easily digestible concepts.

• Excellent strategic, interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking abilities.

• Experience in implementing AI model governance and model risk programs within a large organization.

• Background in establishing, enforcing, and monitoring AI model governance policies, standards, and controls.

• Demonstrated experience in AI ethics, governance, compliance, or related positions.

• Knowledge of AI governance principles, ethical considerations, regulatory compliance, EU AI Act, AI Executive Order, and NIST framework.

• Insight into bias testing and remediation for machine learning and generative AI models.

• Understanding of risk and compliance principles as applied to AI model governance and data management solutions.

• Capability to lead and influence change within complex organizational structures.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.

• Applicants must possess authorization to work indefinitely in the United States.

• Certification in Model Risk Management or a similar qualification is considered advantageous.

• Practical experience with Collibra or comparable data management tools is seen as beneficial.
