Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions in accordance with Manheim inspection standards.

• Locate, start, maneuver, inspect, and safely return vehicles located on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, including VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options.

• Accurately input inspection data into the designated systems.

• Assess and document both the exterior and interior condition of the vehicles.

• Carry out basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

• Identify and record any damage, missing parts, or non-functional features.

• Establish trust with dealer clients through quality service, professionalism, and responsiveness.

• Inform clients about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and ensure ongoing participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity within the territory.

• Adjust to changes in daily appointments and schedules.

• Prepare and submit reports detailing daily activities and production metrics.

• Use Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams within Manheim.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives and Lean process enhancements.

• Meet production expectations set by leadership.

• Adhere to safety and health protocols and participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Follow Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• Senior Level: Conduct advanced inspections, mentor colleagues, assist with onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.

• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required for Level 1 positions.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field, or any higher level qualification/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any higher level qualification/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• Basic automotive knowledge preferred for Level 1 roles.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience preferred for Level 1 positions.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience preferred for Level 2 roles.

• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level positions.

• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is essential for Senior Level roles.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level applicants.

• At least 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.

• A valid driver's license with a safe driving history is required.

• Ability to fulfill the physical and mental demands of the role within the required timeframes.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship will be provided now or in the future.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
