This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Carry out on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.
• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles on dealer client lots.
• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; accurately enter data into systems.
• Examine and document both exterior and interior vehicle conditions.
• Conduct basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.
• Identify and record damage, missing parts, or non-operational features.
• Foster trust and build relationships with dealer clients.
• Inform clients about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.
• Engage dealers to boost inspection volume and participation.
• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance territory productivity.
• Adjust to changes in appointments and schedules to ensure dealer coverage.
• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.
• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.
• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams within Manheim.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process enhancement.
• Maintain production standards and adhere to safety and health protocols.
• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.
• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
• Senior-level inspectors will mentor peers, assist with onboarding, and act as subject matter experts.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• A High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1.
• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a High School diploma/GED, or 5 years’ experience in a related field.
• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years’ experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a High School diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience, or 7 years’ experience in a related field.
• Minimal automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.
• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.
• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.
• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level.
• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is required for Senior Level.
• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.
• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within necessary timeframes.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship now or in the future.
