This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated area.
• Identify, start, move, examine, and safely return vehicles located on dealer client lots.
• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; accurately input data into systems.
• Assess and document both the exterior and interior condition of vehicles.
• Conduct basic mechanical evaluations across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Detect and document any damage, missing parts, or non-functional features.
• Establish trust and cultivate strong relationships with dealer clients.
• Provide education to clients regarding Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.
• Engage dealers to boost inspection volume and sustain participation.
• Leverage data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity within the territory.
• Adjust to changes in appointments and schedules to ensure adequate dealer coverage.
• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.
• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.
• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other Manheim teams.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process advancements.
• Adhere to production expectations and maintain safety and health protocols.
• Engage in Safety Excellence initiatives.
• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
• Senior Level: Conduct advanced, high-complexity inspections and mentor junior inspectors.
• High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1.
• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus over 3 years of experience in a related field; alternatively, any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field; alternatively, any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.
• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is required.
• Ability to fulfill the physical and mental demands of the role within specified timeframes.
• Senior Level: Previous experience in vehicle inspection is required.
• Senior Level: A strong knowledge of automotive systems (body and mechanical) is required.
• Senior Level: A minimum of 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.
• Pre-employment drug testing is required; however, no marijuana testing is administered for this position.
• Must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.
• Minimal automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.
• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.
• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.
• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.
• A minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month.
