ML Engineer, II – Simulation Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary liaison between Dataloop + Simulation and one or two Autonomy teams, facilitating hands-on integration of Torc Sim.

• Execute the complete data flow from the data operations platform through the simulation environment to scalable persistent storage.

• Integrate Autonomy models to manage replay/recompute workflows at scale and carry out subsequent metric assessments.

• Promote the use of visualization tools and enhance UI/UX for the development backlog.

• Become a subject matter expert on partner-team models and take ownership of their integrations.

• Troubleshoot issues spanning data ingestion, simulation execution, storage, and metrics, ensuring they are resolved effectively.

• Convert feedback from Autonomy engineers into actionable requirements for the Dataloop + Simulation product roadmap.

• Document workflows and train new users to ensure adoption extends beyond direct support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, along with skills typically gained through 4+ years of experience, OR a Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience.

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Experience in constructing or managing data pipelines at scale.

• Familiarity with simulation, replay, or model validation processes.

• Understanding of autonomy or robotics machine learning models and their associated data.

• Comfortable working with cloud storage and computing environments.

• Exceptional cross-team communication abilities.

• Effective hands-on problem-solving skills.

• Bonus: Previous experience as a forward-deployed engineer, solutions engineer, or in an embedded platform role.

• Bonus: Experience with Camera, Lidar, Vehicle Intent, or Object Tracking models.

• Bonus: Familiarity with autonomous vehicle or robotics simulation/replay frameworks.

• Bonus: Knowledge of Foxglove, OpenGL, or Three.js.

• Bonus: Experience with MCAP, Parquet, PyArrow, Daft, or Pandas.

• Bonus: Experience with Ray, Anyscale, or AWS HyperPods.

• Bonus: Proficiency in Terraform and GitHub Actions.
