This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.
β’ Oversee instructional programs for middle school science learners in a virtual setting.
β’ Act as a homeroom facilitator, serving as a mentor and role model.
β’ Conduct weekly LiveLessons for homeroom.
β’ Assist students and families through Welcome Calls, Intent to Return, monthly WSLP Progress Checks, and tracking academic progress.
β’ Provide at least one synchronous LiveLesson per course weekly, or combine LiveLessons with office hours.
β’ Create and share asynchronous support videos.
β’ Offer differentiated Tier 1 instruction and aid in developing and implementing Tier 2 and 3 interventions.
β’ Track student progress and deliver small-group synchronous instruction.
β’ Assess assignments within 8 days and give clear, constructive feedback.
β’ Evaluate curriculum and devise alternative lesson strategies.
β’ Assist students and guardians with alternative lessons, assessments, strategies, assignments, and projects.
β’ Collaborate with instructional staff and learning specialists to modify and enhance activities.
β’ Maintain regular communication with guardians, students, and instructional staff via computer and phone.
β’ Connect with each content-area student individually at least once per semester.
β’ Document all contacts within 24 hours.
β’ Fulfill weekly student-contact obligations.
β’ Organize and participate in social events and field trips.
β’ Establish and nurture a virtual school community.
β’ Engage in state testing, including in-person WIDA and/or SBAC/WCAS proctoring throughout Washington.
β’ Take part in recruitment sessions and marketing initiatives.
β’ Collaborate on IEP and 504 teams.
β’ Analyze student progress data and enhance instructional practices through professional learning communities.
β’ Work alongside Advisory Teachers and School Counselors to support communication and progress for students and families.
β’ Attend in-person training and team-building events across Washington.
β’ Report any critical incidents impacting student well-being as necessary.
β’ Complete required professional development, SEL, and DEI training.
β’ Serve in designated school-wide representative or Career Ladder roles.
β’ Carry out additional duties as assigned.
β’ Possession of Washington teacher certification in K-8 Elementary Education or Science.
β’ Preferred residency in Washington.
β’ Proven ability to collaborate as a team player and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
β’ Proficient technology skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
β’ Familiarity with synchronous classroom tools such as Zoom.
β’ Experience utilizing third-party educational software like Nearpod.
β’ Competence in spreadsheets, databases, and data collection and analysis tools.
β’ Outstanding oral and written communication abilities.
β’ Keen attention to detail, effective time management, and organizational skills.
β’ Capacity to promote an inclusive and culturally responsive work and educational atmosphere.
β’ Student- and family-centric mindset.
β’ Willingness to travel for one or two weeks at a time, including overnight stays.
β’ Ability to utilize a personal electronic device and email for 2-step authentication.
