Middle School Math Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content within an online setting

• Create rich and engaging learning experiences, both synchronous and asynchronous

• Tailor learning to meet the needs of all students

• Differentiate instruction based on students’ mastery levels

• Enhance course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools

• Manage the grade book and uphold academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators about any concerns regarding student performance and progress

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families

• Communicate and respond promptly to students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting

• Monitor student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system

• Travel as needed, averaging once per month or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Required: Appropriate state Department of Education Middle School (5-8) Math Teaching Certification

• Position is virtual and available to residents of all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

• Bachelor's degree is necessary

• Active state teaching license required

• Ability to pass a required background check

• Capacity to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours

• Experience with the specified age group is essential

• Proficient in supporting both adults and children in utilizing technology

• Experience in teaching online/virtually and/or in a traditional classroom setting

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is required

• Ability to analyze and present numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Capability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
