Middle School Math Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Deliver targeted course content in a virtual setting.

• Provide engaging and interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.

• Customize learning for all students and differentiate instruction based on their mastery levels.

• Enhance course content utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the guidance of principals and coaches.

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with families.

• Communicate and respond promptly to students and learning coaches/parents.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.

• Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Travel as needed, averaging once a month or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations.

• Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data and utilize it to inform instructional decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Valid state teaching license.

• Arizona Middle School Math Teaching Certification is required, or appropriate certification from another state with the ability to obtain AZ licensure within 60 days of hire.

• Must reside in Arizona; candidates from surrounding states may be considered.

• Ability to pass a required background check.

• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Capability to maintain a professional home office without distractions during working hours.

• Experience with the designated age group.

• Experience assisting adults and children with technology use.

• Experience teaching in an online/virtual and/or traditional classroom setting.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms.

• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data to guide instructional decisions.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
