Middle School Intervention Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Modify and/or adapt the K12 curriculum to address the unique needs of each student.

• Write and maintain compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.

• Collaborate with general education teachers to achieve student objectives.

• Educate parents on effective instructional strategies.

• Prepare necessary documentation.

• Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings.

• Proctor achievement testing and required alternative assessments.

• Work together with related services teams to develop and monitor IEP goals.

• Support students in grades 6–8 who experience learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.

• Instruct students in independent living, literacy, communication, and math skills.

⛳️ Requirements

• State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.

• Proficiency with web technologies.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent presentation skills.

• Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.

• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

• Flexible scheduling.

• Willingness to travel as needed, up to 20% of the time.

• Capability to pass a required background check.

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours.

• Ability to work typically 40+ hours per week during school-defined hours.

• Willingness and ability to obtain Ohio Certification.

• A minimum of 1 year of classroom experience is preferred.

• A Master’s Degree with a focus in Special Education is preferred.

• 3 or more years of classroom experience in Special Education is preferred.
