Middle School English Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver tailored middle school English curriculum content in a virtual setting.

• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.

• Customize learning and differentiate instruction according to student mastery.

• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators of any concerns related to student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families.

• Communicate with students and learning coaches/parents promptly.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues.

• Collaborate with fellow educators to analyze student data and leverage it for instructional decisions.

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid English teaching certificate/license for Grades 4-8 or 7-12, with ESL Supplemental.

• Must be a resident of Texas.

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• Active state teaching license mandatory.

• Ability to pass the necessary background check.

• Capable of working independently, typically over 40 hours per week.

• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during the workday.

• Availability to work the school’s standard schedule of 9-5 or 8-4.

• Ability to collaborate with educators to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.

• Proficient in using student data to inform instructional decisions.

• Open to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.

• Willingness to adapt to change to ensure optimal student outcomes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Capacity to maintain teacher certification and complete professional development hours.

• Familiarity with K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.

• Experience working with the specified age group.

• Experience assisting adults and children in utilizing technology.

• Background in teaching online/virtually and/or in a traditional classroom environment.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
