Mid-Level/Senior Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Analyst – Food Sector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Perform in-depth regulatory research utilizing ANVISA and MAPA databases, along with international platforms such as Mercosur, EFSA, FDA, and Health Canada.

• Analyze, interpret, and implement national and international legislation, guidelines, regulations, and technical-scientific data pertaining to the food sector.

• Address technical inquiries and offer regulatory advice to clients.

• Draft regulatory opinions.

• Evaluate product formulations and determine regulatory classifications in line with ANVISA and MAPA identity and quality standards and technical regulations.

• Create food labeling statements and design label artwork.

• Review food product specifications based on compendia recognized by ANVISA.

• Oversee the preparation and monitoring of product registrations, notifications, manufacturing commencement notices, and importation procedures.

• Guide and review stability studies for submission to ANVISA.

• Prepare applications for sanitary licenses/permits and company registrations.

• Offer guidance on processes related to food import and export.

• Conduct feasibility studies and develop technical-scientific reports for safety and efficacy evaluations.

• Formulate responses to technical requirements and manage administrative appeals.

• Evaluate regulatory risks, opportunities, and strategies.

• Assume technical leadership in client engagements.

• Provide recommendations for amendments to the national regulatory framework and participate in ANVISA public consultations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Educational qualifications in Food Engineering, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in managing approval processes for novel ingredients, including probiotics, enzymes, food additives, and/or processing aids.

• Intermediate proficiency in English, demonstrating strong skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking for the analysis of international documents.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.

• Competent in using Adobe Acrobat.

• Exceptional capability to comprehend, interpret, and synthesize technical and scientific texts in both Portuguese and English.

• Comprehensive understanding of research methodology and experience in searches within scientific databases.
