This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the corporate expert in water discharge and waste disposal compliance.
• Collaborate with facilities to create, implement, and uphold water and waste compliance strategies and programs.
• Analyze and convey environmental regulations and requirements throughout Arclin’s global operations.
• Assist with wastewater permitting activities such as NPDES, POTW, stormwater, permit renewals, modifications, amendments, and regulatory applicability assessments.
• Offer expertise on wastewater discharge standards, effluent limitations, monitoring, sampling, testing, and pretreatment processes.
• Provide direction on stormwater compliance, inspections, monitoring, sampling, best management practices (BMPs), SWPPP implementation, and corrective measures.
• Evaluate wastewater treatment and monitoring data, discharge calculations, DMRs, and recordkeeping.
• Advise on hazardous, universal, and non-hazardous waste management.
• Promote waste minimization, recycling, reuse, and disposal strategies.
• Conduct environmental compliance assessments and audits.
• Investigate and resolve compliance challenges, regulatory inquiries, notices of violation, exceedances, spills, and potential noncompliance issues.
• Lead or assist in environmental incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Develop corporate environmental standards, procedures, tools, guidance, and training programs.
• Create systems to enhance the consistency and visibility of compliance requirements across global operations.
• Provide technical oversight for environmental projects involving equipment, process modifications, facility expansions, and capital initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, and site EHS teams on water and waste impacts and compliance obligations.
• Keep abreast of emerging regulations and industry trends, communicating business implications and necessary actions.
• Identify, establish, and monitor environmental performance metrics and leading indicators.
• Offer technical support and mentorship to site EHS professionals.
• Engage in cross-functional and global environmental initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Over 7 years of experience in environmental engineering, water/wastewater compliance, waste management, and/or environmental permitting in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• In-depth knowledge of wastewater, stormwater, and waste regulations, permitting requirements, and compliance management.
• Proven experience in supporting NPDES, POTW, and stormwater compliance programs.
• Familiarity with wastewater monitoring, sampling, data analysis, compliance reporting, and regulatory recordkeeping.
• Experience in managing hazardous, universal, and non-hazardous waste, including waste characterization and regulatory obligations.
• Background in supporting complex environmental permitting and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced skills in Excel.
• Capable of fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with plant leadership, EHS professionals, production supervisors, operators, maintenance staff, and engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and drive actions without direct authority.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50%, including both domestic and international travel.
• Availability to provide technical support for environmental incidents or urgent compliance issues outside of regular business hours, as needed.
• Ability to safely work in a manufacturing environment, which includes standing for long periods and occasionally bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Experience working across multiple facilities, jurisdictions, or regulatory frameworks is preferred.
• Familiarity with waste minimization, recycling, or environmental sustainability initiatives is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Experience with ISO 14001 is preferred.
