Mid-Level Mainframe Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Assess requirements and determine the technical and functional needs of systems.

• Create, sustain, and enhance web applications and enterprise systems.

• Develop and oversee online and batch applications within a mainframe environment.

• Design and utilize REST APIs.

• Write and test software programs based on system analysis specifications.

• Adjust programs to rectify defects, enhance processing, and implement modifications and new features.

• Conduct unit, integration, and functional testing.

• Develop test scenarios, evidence, and related documentation.

• Investigate, monitor, and resolve application errors and incidents.

• Deliver support and promote the enhancement of enterprise systems.

• Optimize database queries and processes.

• Supervise online and batch applications.

• Prepare technical documentation and operational manuals.

• Engage in technical meetings and Agile ceremonies.

• Assist in work organization, alignment across teams, and delivery of solutions.

• Collaborate with development, support, business, and infrastructure teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in web development.

• Proficiency in AngularJS, JSP, Struts, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 2 or later, Bootstrap, REST APIs, and Java.

• Familiarity with Karma, Jasmine, and Jest.

• Experience with DB2, Adabas, sequential files, VSAM, COBOL/SQL, COBOL/CICS, COBOL/GRI, Natural, JCL, and SQL.

• Experience in Agile environments such as Scrum, Kanban, or similar methodologies.

• Analytical skills for collecting, interpreting, and addressing requirements.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capacity to work collaboratively in teams and with various departments.

• Proactive, organized, and results-driven profile.

• Strong investigation and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience in supporting and enhancing enterprise systems.

• Knowledge of quality practices, code version control, and system integration.

• Experience in Agile teams is preferred.

• Certifications or courses related to software development, Java, Angular, software testing, Agile methodologies, or mainframe technologies are advantageous.

• Familiarity with DevOps, continuous integration, continuous delivery, systems architecture, APIs, and application integration is a plus.

• Experience with modernization projects or integration between web and mainframe systems is a plus.
