
Mid-Level Designer – Brand & Visual Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create innovative concepts and visual directions for identity, campaigns, editorial, packaging, environmental, and digital projects.
• Convert strategy, audience needs, and client goals into unique and pertinent design ideas.
• Develop and enhance cohesive visual systems across various applications, formats, and touchpoints.
• Take ownership of designated design workstreams from initial exploration through to refinement, production, and final delivery.
• Clearly present and explain design thinking to internal teams and, when applicable, to clients.
• Thoughtfully respond to feedback while championing the quality and integrity of the work.
• Collaborate with creative directors, designers, strategists, writers, project managers, and external creative partners.
• Prepare precise, production-ready files and coordinate with printers, fabricators, developers, photographers, illustrators, and other vendors.
• Manage priorities across multiple projects while ensuring craftsmanship, consistency, and attention to detail.
• Contribute ideas, references, and constructive feedback to the wider studio practice.
• Maintain curiosity about emerging creative tools and technologies.
• 3 to 5 years of professional design experience in a design studio, agency, or a robust in-house creative team.
• A portfolio showcasing strong concepts, layout, typography, composition, art direction, and visual system thinking across various formats.
• Demonstrated evidence of strategically grounded and visually ambitious work, with the ability to adapt rather than depend on a singular aesthetic.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
• Experience in taking work from initial concept through production to final delivery.
• Ability to clearly communicate design decisions and participate confidently in presentations and critiques.
• Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the capability to manage multiple deadlines.
• A collaborative working style, openness to feedback, and a high level of accountability.
• Familiarity with motion, 3D, prototyping, web tools, or other emerging creative technologies is a plus.
• Availability to work Pacific time zone hours (within reason) is required.
