Mental Health Therapist – SUD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions for patients experiencing substance use disorders through telehealth platforms.

• Perform comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations and create tailored treatment plans for each patient.

• Employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers, Medical Assistants, and Peer Recovery Specialists to enhance patient care strategies.

• Assist patients during crisis situations and facilitate coordination for higher levels of care when required.

• Ensure thorough and prompt documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational regulations.

• Enhance access to care for underserved and marginalized communities.

• Demonstrate compassion and build trust with patients and their communities.

• Provide education to patients and families regarding substance use disorders (SUD), co-occurring conditions, and available resources.

• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing educational opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or LISW, IMFT certification in Ohio.

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in delivering therapy to individuals with substance use disorders is required.

• At least 1 year of experience providing therapy in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), or similar treatment setting is necessary.

• Certification in addiction counseling is preferred.

• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual care delivery is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of SUD diagnoses, treatment modalities, and medications is essential.

• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with a diverse array of staff, patients, and community members.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills, a flexible attitude, and a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.

• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during patient sessions and team discussions.

• Frequent use of hands for typing, writing, and managing clinical documentation is required.

• Visual and auditory acuity to assess patient needs, read documentation, and communicate effectively is necessary.

• Potential exposure to high-stress scenarios necessitating emotional resilience and de-escalation competencies.
