Mental Health Therapist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Perform thorough evaluations of behavioral, emotional, and mental health requirements

• Create personalized treatment strategies that align with client objectives

• Offer evidence-based individual and family therapy utilizing methods such as CBT and DBT

• Provide care remotely through telehealth services

• Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary

• Keep precise and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes and treatment results

• Work in collaboration with primary care doctors, psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals

• Share treatment plans, progress updates, and recommendations with clients, families, and relevant stakeholders

• Offer crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress

• Formulate safety plans and strategies to prevent or alleviate crises

• Educate clients and their families on mental health issues, treatment alternatives, and coping methods

• Maintain a steady patient load that corresponds with contracted hours and organizational accessibility requirements

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline

• Active independent clinical licensure in at least one of Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience providing therapy to youth, adults, and individuals facing behavioral health challenges

• Experience treating patients aged 13 and older

• Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions

• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, documentation, and organizational abilities

• Experience in delivering telehealth services

• Preference for candidates willing to obtain licensure in additional states

• Experience with specialized populations or treatment areas such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, or grief and loss is preferred

• Familiarity with Athena One EHR and electronic health record documentation standards is preferred
