This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct psychiatric and mental health evaluations.
• Assess all documentation submitted by Independent Medical Examinations for adequacy, consistency, and reliability.
• Address discrepancies and other concerns between the IME provider and the Mental Health Reviewing Consultant.
• Analyze documentation and provide written recommendations to the Contracting Officer’s Representative or Nurse Consultant via secure electronic transmission within ten business days.
• Assess judgment and ability to safely execute essential duties for employees in roles involving weapon-carrying or public safety.
• Decide if an employee is fit or unfit to safely and effectively perform essential duties.
• Evaluate whether a condition is disqualifying, if recurrence cannot be excluded, and whether recurrence would present a significant risk of substantial harm.
• A current, active, and unrestricted medical license to practice in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
• A minimum of five years of experience showcasing knowledge of forensic law enforcement hiring/screening processes and Office of Personnel Management policies regarding Federal hiring.
• Experience in conducting psychiatric and mental health consultations and providing written recommendations.
• Capability to evaluate IME documentation for adequacy, consistency, and credibility.
• Preferred experience in reviewing FFDE cases concerning psychological and psychiatric conditions in law enforcement.
• Ability to secure and maintain a Public Trust / High Risk clearance.
• A favorable background investigation is required.
• Subject to client approval and contract award.
• Part-time schedule with flexible hours, with the option for full-time work.
