This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota, +1 more state.
• Educate, engage, and motivate the public to support NMDP’s mission through presentations, awareness events, celebrations, and registry recruitment initiatives.
• Regular travel throughout the North/South Dakota region is required.
• Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, technical and vocational institutions, community organizations, corporations, and service sectors.
• Encourage dedicated individuals to join the NMDP registry, with an emphasis on enhancing diversity through engagement and education of ethnically diverse communities.
• Plan and coordinate activities for registry awareness, education, and commitment that align with sponsor vision and organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with marketing teams, volunteer services, the NMDP Foundation, account managers, network partners, and Transplant Centers.
• Establish and nurture community relationships, serving as a liaison between NMDP and the local community.
• Address leads and referrals with support from internal partners.
• Convey the NMDP mission through public speaking and written communications.
• Identify innovative practices for community engagement and registry recruitment, providing feedback to account managers and marketing leaders.
• Develop annual strategies for engagement and recruitment along with activity plans.
• Organize, plan, and execute both live and digital mission-focused events.
• Mobilize volunteers and sponsors to meet event objectives.
• Educate prospective volunteer donors about NMDP’s mission, the donation process, and expectations of registry members.
• Address questions, issues, and concerns from prospective donors.
• Implement training and procedures for community engagement, education, and donor recruitment.
• Monitor progress towards monthly, quarterly, and annual registry enrollment targets.
• Assist patient families by assessing needs and referring them to suitable NMDP services.
• Identify stories related to patients, donors, and other relevant narratives for marketing and media outreach.
• Participate in media events and interviews representing NMDP.
• Recruit, retain, interview, screen, train, and recommend volunteers for suitable programs.
• Oversee volunteers throughout their engagement process.
• Track volunteer data and hours accurately.
• Support volunteer recognition and appreciation initiatives.
• Advocate for financial contributions to the NMDP Foundation.
• Understanding of sales and marketing principles.
• Familiarity with volunteer management practices.
• Experience in developing in-market strategies and generating leads.
• Proficiency in planning and executing events.
• Ability to navigate college and university systems, including athletics, affinity groups, student government, and Greek organizations.
• Skill in networking and forming community partnerships within ethnically diverse populations.
• Effective utilization of social media platforms.
• Capability to leverage digital marketing for recruitment purposes.
• Ability to interact with and influence various stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Effective organizational and time management skills for managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Salesforce, and internet navigation.
• Willingness to learn and travel within the region as required (25%-50%).
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.
• Occasional national travel, with 3-4 trips per year.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of formal education and experience equivalent.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in sales, business or community development, client account management, or event planning and implementation with defined goals or targets.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation capable of carrying event materials.
• Experience as a marrow or PBSC donor or a direct connection to the mission is advantageous.
• Bilingual language skills may be required depending on the location.
