Member of Technical Staff, Compiler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Investigate the potential of frontier models in the extraction, structuring, and validation of clinical logic.

• Create experiments to identify effective methodologies.

• Implement the successful strategy into the clinical compiler.

• Develop a pipeline that transforms clinical standards into executable modules through parsing, document and layout models, transformation, and validation.

• Design and refine the target syntax/representation for guideline logic, encompassing exclusions, precedence, and recommendations.

• Conduct experiments comparing open and closed models, fine-tuning, and constrained decoding.

• Collaborate on benchmarks and adversarial cases to assess source fidelity, logical completeness, and recommendation accuracy.

• Execute error analysis.

• Create deterministic validators through static analysis, constraint solving, or formal methods to uncover ambiguity, contradictions, and source silence.

• Work closely with founders and clinicians to verify outputs.

• Transform model failures into hypotheses to enhance system design.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of research or industry experience, or a final-year PhD/postdoc.

• Publication in clinical AI is highly preferred.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Experience with PyTorch.

• Familiarity with Transformers/LLMs.

• Knowledge of static analysis.

• Experience with SMT/SAT solvers.

• Familiarity with FHIR/HL7 v2 is a plus.

• Must be located in the US or Canada.

• US citizenship or Green Card required.

• Visa sponsorship is not available, with possible exceptions for frontier-lab employees.
