This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
β’ Oversee and complete prior authorizations for medications, treatments, and services through informed decisions.
β’ Collaborate with insurance companies and prescribers to secure timely approvals and re-authorizations before coverage expires.
β’ Inform patients, pharmacies, and providers about approvals and denials, and assist with the appeals process.
β’ Monitor the medication management inbox, phone line, and patient portal for refill requests and symptom inquiries.
β’ Verify refill requests against patient charts, forward them to prescribers, and follow up with patients as needed.
β’ Document symptom calls, prioritize them based on urgency, and escalate safety concerns immediately.
β’ Coordinate necessary forms with providers, clients, and the Medical Records Manager.
β’ Issue invoices for prescription refills and ensure paperwork is completed.
β’ Confirm releases of information and upload finalized documents to the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
β’ Provide remote administrative support, including scheduling, EHR data entry, and additional administrative tasks.
β’ High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
β’ Must reside in South Carolina.
β’ Reliable high-speed internet connection and a private, quiet workspace.
β’ Excellent organizational, follow-through, and communication skills.
β’ Strong commitment to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
β’ Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) is preferred but not mandatory.
β’ Experience as a medical assistant, in a medical office, or in prior authorization processes is a plus, but not required.
β’ Familiarity with mental health conditions and psychiatric medications is advantageous but not essential.
