This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Venezuela.
• Confirm patient insurance during check-in and ensure that the information is accurate, up-to-date, and properly documented.
• Analyze denied claims, determine the reasons for denial, assist with reprocessing claims, and monitor follow-ups.
• Evaluate and process Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents and resolve EOB backlogs.
• Address outstanding insurance balances and issues related to patient accounts.
• Facilitate claims workflows, including those related to Cigna and Veterans Affairs.
• Manage vendor payments, including issuing checks when necessary.
• Oversee the completion, accuracy, and compliance of SOAP notes.
• Track missed and canceled appointments while identifying scheduling patterns.
• Generate reports on balances, appointments, EOB backlogs, denied claims, and other operational metrics.
• Coordinate communication among providers, care teams, and administrative staff.
• Proactively identify issues related to workflows, billing, documentation, scheduling, and patient accounts.
• Suggest practical solutions aimed at enhancing clinic efficiency.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience in supporting a healthcare practice in the United States.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and a professional communication style.
• Must be proficient in Mac OS.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in previous roles.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs without being prompted.
• Highly detail-oriented in tasks related to billing, documentation, and reporting.
• Robust critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Emotionally intelligent and patient when collaborating with a busy provider.
• Confident, professional, and organized in communication.
• Capable of taking personal responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Resourceful and self-motivated in learning new workflows.
