This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• Confirm patient insurance details post check-in, ensuring all information is accurate, current, and well-documented.
• Analyze denied claims to pinpoint reasons for denial, assist in reprocessing, and follow up on any missing information.
• Assess and process Explanation of Benefits documents to resolve EOB backlogs.
• Evaluate outstanding insurance balances and patient account issues, coordinating resolutions as needed.
• Facilitate claims-related workflows, including those for Cigna and Veterans Affairs.
• Manage vendor payments, including issuing checks when necessary.
• Oversee the completion, accuracy, and compliance of SOAP notes.
• Monitor missed and canceled appointments, identifying trends in scheduling.
• Generate reports detailing outstanding balances, missed and canceled appointments, EOB backlog, denied claims, and other operational metrics.
• Enhance communication between providers, care teams, and administrative personnel.
• Detect workflow gaps, billing issues, documentation delays, scheduling challenges, and patient account concerns.
• Propose effective solutions to enhance clinic efficiency.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Background in supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and a professional communication style.
• Must be proficient in Mac OS.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks.
• Capability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrated leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a previous position.
• Proactive and able to foresee needs before they are articulated.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Emotionally intelligent and patient when interacting with a busy provider.
• Confident, professional, and organized in communications.
• Willing to take personal responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Resourceful and self-motivated in learning new workflows.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and comfortable handling confidential information.
• Performance-based salary increase after 6 months.
