This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Connect internal strategies with external medical insights through field engagement with the healthcare community.
• Facilitate disease awareness initiatives within the designated field territory.
• Engage in scientific discussions and collect information regarding unmet medical needs and treatment approaches.
• Contribute to the development of organizational processes, procedures, and best practices.
• Act as a medical resource for healthcare providers, clinical investigators, clinical study sites, and healthcare decision-makers concerning investigational and marketed products.
• Assist in the commercialization of products.
• Build and sustain scientific relationships with healthcare practitioners, clinical investigators, and healthcare decision-makers.
• Provide medical and scientific assistance for designated therapeutic areas.
• Attend and contribute to scientific and medical conferences.
• Share clinical and competitive insights and prepare post-meeting documentation.
• Address unsolicited inquiries with accurate, non-misleading, and non-promotional product information.
• Aid in the development of educational materials, FAQs, site training, and training for home office and field colleagues.
• Deliver presentations to healthcare professionals who offer peer education.
• Support Phase 3, Phase 4, and Investigator Sponsored Trials.
• Ensure that medical education activities adhere to relevant guidelines, rules, and regulations.
• Provide support for medical initiatives in other therapeutic areas as required.
• Collaborate with sister and parent companies on product development, clinical investigators, and clinical study sites.
• Complete all assigned company and job-related training.
• Report to the Field Medical Director, Medical Affairs.
• Work collaboratively across functions with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, R&D, Finance, Legal, and global counterparts.
• Advanced degree in the life sciences (MD, DO, PharmD, or PhD), or licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• NP and PA candidates with relevant clinical experience will be considered.
• MBA/CNS is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience is required.
• Experience in Medical Affairs within the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or related scientific medical fields is essential.
• Experience with rare diseases is preferred; specific experience with ALS is a plus.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and experience with clinical trial operations are required.
• Customer relationship management experience is a plus, including thought leader development, speaker training, and formulary presentations.
• Familiarity with AMCP dossier and Health Economics and Outcomes Research is preferred.
• Prior launch experience is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical therapeutics, drug development, business and market knowledge, and strategic resource management.
• Comprehensive understanding of FDA, OIG, ACCME, HIPAA, and other ethical standards relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
• Ability to quickly learn new therapeutic areas.
• Outstanding interpersonal, networking, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and evaluative abilities.
• Capability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in interfacing with technical platforms for the collection, review, and dissemination of medical information.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and virtual platforms such as WebEx.
• Willingness to travel 75% of the time, or as required, from a home-based office.
