This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Serve as the main scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, Population Health Decision Makers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Implement Amgen Medical function and product strategy under MSL Leadership to deliver precise information and enhance patient outcomes.
• Dedicate significant time to peer-to-peer interactions with Opinion Leaders in Obesity and related conditions, community healthcare providers, and Population Health Decision Makers.
• Engage with clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline.
• Relay scientific, clinical, outcomes, and economic data to Population Health Decision Makers within assigned Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and institutions.
• Link external and internal stakeholders to expand Amgen’s outreach and improve patient access.
• Conduct focused and balanced scientific exchanges in accordance with MSL compliance standards.
• Support Amgen-sponsored research and potentially take on the role of study lead.
• Connect with potential investigators for non-sponsored clinical research.
• Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders.
• Lead and assist in congress activities.
• Facilitate speaker training and ensure that speakers are informed about new data.
• Take the lead or participate in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.
• Collaborate compliantly across Amgen field roles to create a unified One Amgen experience.
• Perform administrative duties and training in a timely fashion.
• Report to an Obesity MSL Field Director.
• Doctorate degree; or Master’s degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. preferred; other doctoral degrees may be considered.
• At least 1 year of experience in Medical Affairs preferred.
• 4 or more years in a medically related field, including a minimum of 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research preferred.
• Experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs within a biotech or pharmaceutical company preferred.
• Expertise in Cardiometabolic and/or Obesity areas preferred.
• Familiarity with the designated territory preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying scientific data.
• Maintain and enhance clinical/scientific knowledge and expertise with up-to-date data/information and healthcare trends.
• Execute administrative responsibilities and training, including Veeva CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules.
