This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.
• Serve as the main scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, Population Health Decision Makers, and various healthcare providers.
• Implement Amgen Medical functions and product strategies as directed by MSL Leadership to enhance patient outcomes.
• Facilitate peer-to-peer interactions with Opinion Leaders in Obesity and related conditions, as well as community healthcare providers and Population Health Decision Makers.
• Collaborate with clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline.
• Present scientific, clinical, outcomes, and economic data to Population Health Decision Makers.
• Connect both external and internal stakeholders to broaden Amgen’s influence and improve patient access.
• Conduct thorough scientific discussions while adhering to MSL compliance standards.
• Assist with Amgen-sponsored research and possibly take on the role of study lead.
• Coordinate with potential investigators for non-sponsored clinical research.
• Deliver field observations and insights to internal teams.
• Oversee and contribute to congress activities.
• Aid in speaker preparation and ensure speakers are informed about new data.
• Lead or engage in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.
• Collaborate compliantly with various Amgen field roles to ensure a unified One Amgen experience.
• Fulfill administrative tasks and training responsibilities, including Veeva CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules.
• Continuously enhance clinical and scientific knowledge with up-to-date data, information, and healthcare trends.
• Doctorate degree; alternatively, a Master’s degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Preferred qualifications include Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees may be considered).
• Preferred: Minimum of 1 year experience in Medical Affairs.
• Preferred: At least 4 years in a medically related field, including 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research.
• Experience in a medically related field may encompass post-doctoral training, residencies, or fellowships.
• Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs within a biotech or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
• Preferred expertise in Cardiometabolic and/or Obesity fields.
• Experience with the assigned territory is preferred.
• Strong capability to establish and sustain robust relationships with external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying scientific data.
