Medical Science Liaison – Obesity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, Population Health Decision Makers, and other healthcare providers.

• Implement the Amgen Medical function and product strategy as directed by MSL Leadership.

• Facilitate peer-to-peer interactions with Opinion Leaders in Obesity and related conditions, community healthcare providers, and Population Health Decision Makers.

• Collaborate with clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline.

• Deliver clinical, outcomes, and economic data to Population Health Decision Makers.

• Connect external and internal stakeholders to enhance Amgen’s outreach and patient access.

• Engage in in-depth scientific exchanges in accordance with MSL compliance standards.

• Assist with Amgen-sponsored research and potentially act as a study lead.

• Coordinate with potential investigators involved in non-sponsored clinical research.

• Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders.

• Lead and support activities at congresses.

• Aid in speaker training and ensure that speakers are informed about the latest data.

• Lead or participate in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.

• Collaborate across Amgen field roles to create a unified One Amgen experience.

• Handle administrative responsibilities and training, including Veeva CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules.

• Report to the Obesity MSL Field Director.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree, or Master’s degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.

• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. is preferred.

• At least 1 year of Medical Affairs experience is preferred.

• A minimum of 4 years in a medically related field, with at least 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research is preferred.

• Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company is preferred.

• Expertise in Cardiometabolic and/or Obesity is preferred.

• Experience within the designated territory is preferred.

• Capability to establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.

• Outstanding communication skills to effectively convey scientific data.

• Commitment to maintaining and enhancing clinical/scientific knowledge and expertise with current data and healthcare trends.
