This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +2 more states.
• Serve as the primary scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, Population Health Decision Makers, and healthcare providers.
• Implement Amgen Medical functions and product strategies under the guidance of MSL Leadership.
• Facilitate peer-to-peer engagements with Opinion Leaders in Obesity and related conditions, community healthcare providers, and Population Health Decision Makers.
• Collaborate with clinical investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline.
• Disseminate clinical, outcomes, and economic data within assigned Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and institutions.
• Connect both external and internal stakeholders to enhance Amgen's reach and patient access.
• Conduct compliant scientific exchanges utilizing balanced clinical and scientific information.
• Assist in Amgen-sponsored research and potentially take on the role of study lead.
• Act as a liaison with potential investigators in non-sponsored clinical research.
• Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders.
• Lead and support activities at congresses.
• Facilitate speaker training and ensure that speakers are informed about new data.
• Lead or engage in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.
• Collaborate compliantly across various Amgen field roles to ensure a coordinated customer experience.
• Fulfill administrative duties and training in a timely manner.
• Continuously maintain and enhance clinical and scientific expertise.
• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Preferred qualifications include Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O.
• A minimum of 1 year of preferred experience in Medical Affairs.
• At least 4 years in a medically related field, with 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research preferred.
• Experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs within a biotech or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
• Expertise in Cardiometabolic and/or Obesity is preferred.
• Familiarity with the designated territory is preferred.
• Strong ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with external stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey scientific data.
• Up-to-date experience with scientific and clinical information as well as healthcare trends.
• Capability to complete administrative tasks and training, which includes Veeva CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules.
