Medical Science Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture professional, trustworthy relationships with external experts in designated therapeutic areas and regions.

• Engage in balanced, peer-to-peer scientific discussions regarding AbbVie products throughout their lifecycle.

• Participate in scientific exchanges on pertinent disease-state topics.

• Present credible scientific information to external experts and healthcare professionals.

• Facilitate the collection and reporting of medical and scientific field intelligence, including competitor insights and emerging developments.

• Collaborate with investigators involved in AbbVie clinical studies, including identification, study initiation training, and provision of scientific support.

• Coordinate with healthcare professionals on unsolicited investigator-initiated study requests and manage related communications.

• Address unsolicited inquiries for off-label information in compliance with relevant regulations.

• Assist with requests for named-patient or compassionate-use access to AbbVie medications when necessary.

• Support research and educational initiatives at prominent academic centers.

• Conduct all activities in alignment with laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, and AbbVie policies.

• Maintain up-to-date scientific knowledge regarding AbbVie products, therapeutic areas, disease states, and the competitive landscape.

• Develop and implement territory plans for external expert engagement in collaboration with internal colleagues.

• Work together with in-field teams to meet scientific and medical needs.

• Act as a scientific resource for internal AbbVie teams, including Commercial partners where applicable.

• Provide scientific training for sales, marketing, and brand teams.

• Attend scientific meetings and congresses, and prepare summaries of key data with internal colleagues.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree in health sciences or a clinical discipline is required.

• Doctorate-level degree (e.g., Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD) is preferred.

• Candidates with an undergraduate degree and substantial relevant experience may be considered.

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience, or equivalent, is strongly preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and the role of Medical Affairs is preferred.

• Experience in a Medical Science Liaison role (or similar) with a proven track record of success is preferred.

• Ability to interpret clinical data and effectively communicate its key aspects and implications for practice/patients.

• Quick learner capable of adapting to new subject areas and environments.

• Experience in developing and sustaining expert knowledge in the assigned therapeutic area and medical research broadly.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in both the local language and English are preferred.

• Ability to forge and sustain strong collaborative relationships.

• Capable of working independently as well as part of a cross-functional team within a matrix environment.

• Strong understanding of the local healthcare landscape.

• Competence in managing and prioritizing multiple projects concurrently.

• Willingness to travel frequently within the specified geographical area, and occasionally nationally or internationally.
