Medical Science Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture professional, trusting relationships with external experts within designated therapeutic areas and geographical locations.

• Engage in balanced, peer-to-peer scientific discussions regarding AbbVie products throughout their lifecycle.

• Participate in scientific exchanges on pertinent disease-state subjects.

• Deliver credible scientific presentations to external experts and healthcare professionals.

• Facilitate the gathering and reporting of medical and scientific field intelligence, including competitor insights, new developments, and educational initiatives.

• Involve investigators in AbbVie clinical trials, including identifying investigators, initiating studies, and providing scientific information support.

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals on unsolicited investigator-initiated study requests and support related communications.

• Address unsolicited requests for off-label information and offer scientific knowledge concerning AbbVie medications.

• Assist with access requests for named-patient or compassionate-use medicines when legally permitted and requested.

• Support research and educational initiatives at prominent academic institutions.

• Ensure all activities adhere to applicable laws, regulations, codes, policies, procedures, and best-practice standards.

• Maintain up-to-date scientific expertise in AbbVie products, therapeutic areas, disease states, and competitive environments.

• Develop and implement territory engagement plans for external experts in collaboration with internal colleagues.

• Work together with in-field teams to meet scientific and medical needs.

• Act as a scientific resource for internal AbbVie functions, including Commercial partners, in accordance with policies.

• Provide scientific training for sales, marketing, and brand teams.

• Attend scientific meetings and congresses, creating summaries of key data in collaboration with internal colleagues.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree in health sciences or a clinical discipline is required.

• Doctorate level degree (i.e., Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD) is necessary.

• Candidates with an undergraduate degree coupled with substantial relevant experience may be considered.

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience or its equivalent is strongly preferred.

• A solid understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape and the role of Medical Affairs is preferred.

• Experience in a Medical Science Liaison (or a similar position) with a track record of success is preferred.

• Ability to interpret clinical data and effectively communicate key aspects of the data and its implications for practice/patients.

• Capability to quickly acquire knowledge in new subject areas and environments.

• Experience in developing and maintaining expert knowledge in the assigned therapeutic area and medical research in general.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in both the local language and English are preferred.

• Ability to forge and sustain strong collaborative relationships.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team in a matrix environment.

• Strong understanding of the local healthcare landscape.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

• Willingness to travel frequently within the designated geographical area and occasionally on a national or international basis.
