Medical Science Liaison

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Act as a non-promotional, field-based scientific authority in the field of neurology.

• Support AbbVie’s medical and scientific goals throughout the product life cycle.

• Establish and nurture professional relationships with external experts and healthcare professionals within the assigned territory.

• Engage in peer-to-peer scientific discussions about AbbVie products, related disease states, and ongoing research.

• Present scientific information to address gaps in medical or scientific knowledge.

• Gather and report field intelligence, including information on competitors, new developments, and educational initiatives.

• Involve investigators in AbbVie clinical studies, including identifying investigators, training for study initiation, and providing scientific information support.

• Address unsolicited inquiries for scientific, medical, and off-label information.

• Assist with named-patient or compassionate-use medicine access requests when necessary.

• Promote research and educational initiatives within academic institutions.

• Ensure all activities are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, codes, and AbbVie policies.

• Keep up-to-date with scientific expertise in products, therapeutic areas, disease states, and the competitive landscape.

• Create and implement external-expert engagement plans in collaboration with internal colleagues.

• Work alongside in-field teams and serve as a scientific resource for internal functions.

• Provide scientific training for sales, marketing, and brand teams.

• Attend scientific meetings and congresses, preparing summaries of key data.

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced degree in health sciences or a clinical discipline is required.

• A doctorate-level degree (PharmD, MD/DO, or PhD) is necessary.

• Candidates possessing an undergraduate degree along with substantial relevant experience may be considered.

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience or an equivalent background is strongly preferred.

• A solid understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape and the function of Medical Affairs is preferred.

• Experience in a Medical Science Liaison or a comparable role with demonstrated success is preferred.

• Capability to interpret clinical data and convey key data aspects and their implications for practice/patients.

• Quick adaptability to new subject areas and environments.

• Experience in developing and sustaining expert knowledge in the relevant therapeutic area and medical research.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills in both the local language and English are preferred.

• Ability to cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships.

• Proficiency in working independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team in a matrix setting.

• Strong understanding of the local healthcare environment.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

• Willingness to travel frequently within the designated geographical area and occasionally on national/international trips.
