Medical Records, Coding Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Review medical records and clinical documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.

• Collect and organize medical records for requests, audits, and claims processing.

• Identify any documentation gaps and communicate with providers as necessary.

• Ensure adherence to coding guidelines and payer requirements.

• Manage all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, medical records, or health information management.

• Proficient understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding standards.

• Strong grasp of medical terminology and anatomy.

• Experience with EHR/EMR systems is essential.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Located in Colombia, possessing a reliable home office setup and stable internet connection.

• CPC, CCS, or an equivalent coding certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with U.S. payers and revenue cycle processes is preferred.
