Medical Director – Post Acute Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute time-sensitive, specialized evidence-based medical case evaluations for medical necessity utilizing EviCore’s case management software.

• Engage in physician consultation (peer-to-peer) calls with referring providers.

• Review evidence-based medical necessity and the appropriateness of requested services or treatments.

• Suggest alternative services or treatments when necessary.

• Collaborate with over 500 EviCore physician colleagues.

• Contribute to ensuring that patients receive appropriate care through evidence-based decision-making.

• Complete structured remote training with assistance from trainers, mentors, and leadership.

• Remain updated on healthcare regulations and industry advancements.


⛳️ Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. with a current, active medical license in a U.S. state.

• Board certified in PM&R, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine, recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association.

• Eligible to obtain additional state licensure as needed.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience following residency or fellowship.

• Understanding of applicable state and federal laws.

• Familiarity with Utilization Review Accreditation Commission and National Committee for Quality Assurance standards is preferred.

• Ability to adhere to a consistent weekly work schedule (Monday through Friday).

• Strong computer proficiency: capable of working independently with automated processes, software applications, and systems.

• Must be able to type, speak, and listen continuously.

• Company-provided encrypted workstation must be hard-wired to a modem or router; wireless connections are not allowed.

• High-speed cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds.
