Medical Director – Medical Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform timely and specialized evidence-based medical case assessments for medical necessity utilizing EviCore’s case management software.

• Engage in physician consultation (peer-to-peer) discussions with referring providers.

• Evaluate evidence-based medical necessity and the appropriateness of requested services or treatments.

• Suggest alternative services or treatments as needed.

• Collaborate with over 500 EviCore physician colleagues to promote evidence-based decision-making and optimal patient care.

• Participate in organized remote training sessions with trainers, mentors, and leadership.

• Remain updated on healthcare regulations and industry advancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. holding a current, active U.S. medical license and board certification (ABMS or AOA) in Medical Oncology.

• Eligible to obtain additional state licensure as necessary.

• At least 3 years of relevant clinical experience after completing residency or fellowship.

• Familiarity with applicable state and federal laws, as well as Utilization Review Accreditation Commission and National Committee for Quality Assurance standards, is advantageous.

• Ability to adhere to a consistent weekly work schedule (Monday through Friday).

• Proficient computer skills: capable of working independently with automated processes, computer applications, and systems.

• Fulfill physical demands such as typing, speaking, and listening continuously throughout the workday.

• Access to a company-provided encrypted workstation connected via a wired connection to a modem or router; wireless connections are not permitted.

• Subscription to cable broadband or fiber optic internet service with a minimum of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds.
